We offer this class in two sessions. The weekday session will be in the evening from 7pm to 9pm at the shop and the weekend session will last from 8:00am to 1pm, also at the shop. The class is customized to the needs/desires of the participants and the patterns chosen will reflect what the participants would like to tie.
Previous classes have emphasized spinning deer hair, dry fly hackling techniques, various dubbing styles and other more complicated tying skills. A range of patterns will usually be tied including trout dry flies, nymphs and streamers, steelhead patterns and saltwater flies. If you are ready to increase your tying skills, but you are not a beginner anymore, then this class is for you! You will come away with new tying skills that will allow you to tie an increased variety of effective patterns.
Materials (except fly tying thread) will be provided, while the participants are expected to provide their own tools.
