Trip Host:The Avid Angler
Join us this coming spring for a 6-day fishing adventure at Mexico's Ascension Bay pursuing bonefish, permit and other species. Mike and Rick will host a group of 4 at the Cuzan Guest House ( http://www.flyfishmx.com/ ) in Punta Allen, Mexico fishing for bonefish, permit, snook and tarpon. While bonefish are the most plentiful species, many permit are taken from the abundant flats in this expansive area. One angler on our April 2008 trip took three permit to 15 lbs. Snook and small tarpon are also available in a few flats and mangrove creeks. The Cuzan Guest House is located on the beach and we will be staying (double occupancy) in cabanas located at the water's edge. Each cabana has a large front porch facing the Caribbean where you can relax in your own hammock enjoying the view and the gentle sea breeze. A typical day starts at 7am for breakfast and we meet the guides at 8 am for a 15 to 45 minute run to the flats of choice for a day of fishing. Lunch is served on the water and the fishing generally wraps up each day at about 4pm. Appetizers, drinks, swimming and relaxation await you at the lodge and your day finishes with a fine dinner at Cuzan's restaurant.
